I love the desert, but capturing the why of it is not easy for me. Thus I revert to what I perceive is my "childish" view; creating an intimacy through a combination of 300mm lens and high shutter and high ISO. I treat the file from start to finish according to principles that I used to use with film. Thus a very small landscape has been turned into a playroom. The old style (non-cmos) sensor of the Canon Mark III presents both constraints and advantages, within which I apply myself consciously. There is a point to the photograph: the sensuality of randomness.
