Those two sunflower seeds resting on top of the flower have been harvested by the finch and put there awaiting her meal only moments before. So she pulls the seeds out day by day, working her way through the bounty as the seeds ripen. I am positioned as close as I can get, well hidden, having awaited her for just over an hour after dawn, hence the tender light.
Thanks, man. Took it this morning and was quite overjoyed to get the shot I wanted. Hard to get that yellow. Used a strobe & had nice back light from the sun. Moments like this are why I shoot birds!!!
