The downy woodpecker, himself not much bigger than a blossom, looks for his mate while resting in the magnolia tree. He's a bit worn out from courtship, but who can blame him? His mate is very cute! They met in my garden, in Kansas City Kansas, USA. Photo taken in soft sunlight, 3/23/12.
