Rare Child

A rare photo of a juvenile Interior Scrub Jay. Rare for two reasons: the adults are few and far between; and secondly, this is one of two chicks fledged successfully, in spite of habitat loss. Of course, I have helped out all I can, so this vision of my new friend here fills me with joy. Taken in the Hill Country of South Texas at dawn.
