Storm Coming

He's watching the winter storm roll in from his covert in the evergreen, thinking, "Man, that Rene is nice to fatten me up with such tasty seed." All the better as a model thus, I say to myself. He's a new bird, hatched this spring, I think. For certain he's a descendent of the original Chirp, who I haven't seen for a bit. Cardinals just don't get any more red than this, and I guess thats what I was trying to capture here, simple red in soft storm light. A less content bird might have yielded a more dramatic pose, but as with the hound, I'm happy with what I get.
