Description

Using the critiques on the bw file, "Lost", especially that written by *phostructor, I have re-edited this exposure taken in Sedona, Arizona. Cropping out the sky was my own idea, which I did when I realized that it added nothing to the composition. The luminosity was reduced to 88%, mid-contrast and contrast touched only by a point or two. Do tell me what you think, if you have the time.

Two completely different photos really, and if you hadn't already proven what an exceptional artist you are with so many other previous works, I'd not say this next comment: Whether color or black and white (I prefer this color image because it lets us see the effect of the sun more truly, though as pearwood says, we lose the sky / horizon compliment) I'd say what you *wanted* to do with this from the start isn't *quite* happening. The perspective itself give us a huge helping of trees and shrubs. I guess from an uneducated point of view I'd just have to say that there is too much uninteresting foreground, dead-center, haha! But overall, there's nothing wrong with this as a simple and pleasant photo of beautifully sun-kissed canyon and balloon :) I love your stuff though. I really do!
